Nike Art Gallery

This gallery is amazing! Nike Art Gallery is situated in Lagos Nigeria around the Lekki area. Three storey building filled with excellent art work from Nigeria, 2 hours is not even enough time for you to view the artworks in the gallery. You can also find Nike art gallery in Oshogbo, Abuja and Ogidi.  Nike Davis Okundaye the founder of Nike Art Gallery established this art gallery because of her passion for art and culture. If you are a fan of Nigeria tradition and modern art work, you will not be disappointed when you visit this gallery.

I have posted some videos below that contains information on the history of the gallery and the founder's story.

Nike has been featured on - (CNN)Award-winning designer Nike Davies Okundaye has pioneered a global revival of Nigeria's ancestral dark blue cloth-dyeing art. Displayed in major international exhibitions, her colorful creations share the themes from her Yoruba culture with the rest of the world. While the veteran textile designer has enjoyed success abroad, her attention is focused on her homeland, where she's embarked on a mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged Nigerian women through art. At her workshop in southwest Nigeria, Okundaye teaches the unique techniques of indigo cloth dyeing, also known as Adire, to rural women. By doing so, she's hoping to revive not just the centuries-old tradition, but the lives of these women as well.
